A Message from Dr. Martin J. Hudacs, Ed.D.
Welcome to the Solanco School District webpage. As you navigate around the webpage, you will find information about many of the programs, initiatives and accomplishments that make the Solanco School District great. Since 2002, our four elementary schools and two middle schools each year have achieved Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) as required by No Child Left Behind (NCLB). Our high school missed the achievement only once. Bart-Colerain Elementary School has received the prestigious distinction of being named a NCLB Blue Ribbon School, which honors Bart-Colerain as one of the best schools in Pennsylvania and the United States! Solanco students have won national, state and local accolades in the arts, academics and sports.
As a recipient of a Classrooms for the Future grant, Solanco High School is integrating a wide range of technology into the curriculum of all core content areas. Solanco’s virtual academy, middle level alternative education program, and literacy across the curriculum initiative have been presented at state and national conferences. Our extended day kindergarten program provides intensive literacy support for struggling kindergarten students, allowing us to significantly close the achievement gap as these students enter first grade.
Within that agrarian culture, one will find a work ethic and core family values that have made our district extremely successful. Proud of our award-winning fiscal responsibility, the school district provides innovative and rigorous programs for our students that have resulted in remarkable student success and achievement! Solanco also provides, free of charge, adult education classes each year that enable local residents to learn more about computers, computer programs, the internet, digital photography and other topics of interest. Solanco achieves a great deal with its resources!
Again, thank you for visiting the Solanco School District website, and please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or comments you may have.
Sincerely, |
