New kickin’ mule at the high school

| July 8, 2013

Mule - 6-4-13 - eSolNewsAn impressive 9-foot by 14-foot metal mule erected between the high school and the football field proclaims Solanco as “Home of the Golden Mules”. The statue was made possible by a financial gift from the Solanco Class of 2011 to the high school.

The high school contacted Kaufmans Metal Art in Lancaster to design and create the mule. In the photo are Bruce and Cody Kaufman. Cody is a 2008 Solanco graduate and a welder/metal fabricator. Cody and Bruce donated their time and labor to the project; the financial gift from the Class of 2011 paid for the metal and supplies used to make the mule.

The metal mule is estimated to weigh about 1,200 pounds.
