All students and all Solanco community members are invited to enjoy these entertaining performances.

Saturday October 26 – J.P. McCaskey High School Marching Band Showcase Season Finale.  Pre-show festivities begin at 4:30 p.m.  More than a dozen of the finest high school marching bands in the Lancaster-Lebanon area will perform that evening.  The show will conclude with a mass band performance that includes ALL members of ALL participating bands.  That means that the audience will be treated to nearly 800 of the area’s finest high school musicians playing together to close out the show and the marching season in Lancaster County!  That is always quite a spectacle! Tickets are $10 for adults, and $8 for students and senior citizens, and are only available at the gate that evening.

Weyman also provided his thoughts on the showcase and the importance of supporting music students while enjoying their impressive talents: “In the band world, these types of shows are not only commonplace, but they are incredibly entertaining!  An evening of high end marching band performance truly does offer something entertaining and energizing for everyone.  Audience members will be treated to a wide variety of musical styles, visual programming choices, and a superior degree of performance excellence.  These bands are all incredibly spectacular and they enjoy watching each other perform just as much as the audience members do.  This is a great chance for our students and parents to gain critical exposure into the wonderful world of the marching activity and it’s also a great way for our community to support the band in much the same way that we work to support as many Solanco teams and activities as possible.  I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone–regardless of whether or not you have a student in the band–to consider attending one or both of these showcases and cheer your Solanco “Black & Gold” Marching Band as well as all of the other participating bands.  All of these kids work incredibly hard and I’m very proud to lead them into a performance environment where their efforts can be recognized by a big and enthusiastic band crowd!  We plan to do as many of these types of events as possible in the future as they are great learning experiences for our kids.”
