Swift - 1st Day1WEB

Swift Middle School students arrived to newly-renovated and improved school that now features a more secure entrance, new office space, new auditorium, new computer lab, new band room, and new large group instruction (LGI) room.

Bus transportation news – minor delays possible first week of school. Parents of elementary students are reminded that during the first week of school (Aug. 26-29), buses in the afternoons could arrive at the bus stops a little later than scheduled. Extra time will be taken to ensure that all students have gotten on their correct bus, which may delay when the buses leave the schools in the afternoons. The delays would only occur during the first several days of school, and perhaps a day or two following the Labor Day holiday.

Kindergarten bus stops. A parent or guardian must be at the bus stop when the bus arrives after school to drop off kindergarten students. In accordance with Pennsylvania state law, kindergarten students will not be dropped off without a parent or guardian at the assigned bus stop. Instead, the student will be returned to the school at the end of the run and parents/guardians will be responsible for picking up he student at the school in a timely manner.

School times. The school day at Solanco High School is 7:42 a.m. to 2:44 p.m., at the middle schools it’s 7:45 to 2:59, while the elementary school day is 9:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Labor Day. As a reminder, students will be in school Monday through Thursday (Aug. 26 – Aug. 29). Schools will be closed Friday, August 30, and Monday, September 2, for the Labor Day holiday weekend.
