FFA students excel in states and advance to “Big E”

FFA Students WEBjune2019Solanco FFA students¬† put in strong performances at the Pennsylvania Career Development Event (CDE) and Convention and have earned the opportunity to compete at the Eastern States Exposition’s Fair in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Commonly called the Big E, the fair will September 13-29.

Impressive second place finishes at the state level were earned by Dairy Handler (showmanship) Katie Nolan, and the Dairy Cattle Judging team of Jarrett Welk, Kyle Welk, Katie Nolan and Todd Welk.

On its website, the Big E is described as a “priceless educational experience and an opportunity to network with leading minds in the field, as well as a worldwide community of Consumer Fairs & Carnivals professionals from every subspecialty.” Good luck to our Solanco participants in the Big E.

While Solanco’s engines team will not advance, Wade Davis and Owen King registered an outstanding 4th place finish in the state competition.
