Alexus Ravert nominated to attend elite national leadership and medical forum

Alexus RavertWEBSolanco High School sophomore  Alexus Ravert is receiving national recognition for her outstanding academic achievement, remarkable work ethic, and her determination to become a trauma surgeon. Alexus has earned a prestigious nomination to attend the National Leadership Forum: Advanced Medicine & Health Care at John Hopkins University this summer.

A news release from Envision says the forum is a program provided by Envision that will enable Alexus and “successful high school students from across the United States to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.” Alexus “will join outstanding high school students from across the nation to take part in a unique academic and career-oriented development experience.” Alexus is a member of the Solanco softball team, a junior firefighter at the Refton Fire Company, holds two jobs to achieve her future goals, and is working with Solanco High School physical education teacher Dawn Kreider in training to be CPR, AED and First Aid certified. Alexus’ sponsors include Lancaster Home Builders, Modern Trim 2 (her grandfather Dewey Bleacher), and her great grandfather Harry Bleacher Sr.

Amanda Freitag Thomas with Envision said “At the National Youth Leadership Forum, Advanced Medicine & Health Care, students build the confidence and skills needed to excel at college and in the workplace.
