Billie Corbin will become Principal at Providence Elementary

Billie Corbin1WEBThe Solanco School Board has approved the hiring of Billie Corbin as principal at Providence Elementary School. She is currently serving as special education consultant with the Solanco School District. Corbin will replace Christina McLaughlin, who is resigning after five years as principal at Providence.

Prior to special education consultant, Corbin was a second grade, fifth grade, and special education teacher at Clermont Elementary School from 2013-2017. She earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Education at the University of Delaware in 2012, and in 2017 she received a Masters of Education in Leadership for Teaching and Learning from Millersville University.

“I am honored to have been chosen to continue the mission of connecting, inspiring and empowering the students and staff at Providence Elementary,” Corbin said. “I look forward to getting to know the faculty, staff, and families, as well as the children, their personalities, interests and academic goals. I hope to celebrate their accomplishments, both small and large, and work hard each day to make sure our children feel safe and valued at Providence Elementary.”

Solanco Superintendent Dr. Brian Bliss said, “I am pleased to welcome Billie Corbin to the principal role of Providence Elementary School. Billie’s commitment to the enormous potential of each child will inform every interaction she has with students and parents.”

Corbin’s first day on the job as Providence Elementary Principal will be Monday, April 29.
