Girls basketball toy drive – free admission for a toy donation

| December 3, 2018

The Solanco and Donegal girls basketball teams, opponents on the court, will team up in support of an important cause. On Friday, December 14, any fan who brings a new, unwrapped toy to  the Solanco – Donegal girls jr. high, JV and/or varsity basketball games will receive free admission to the game(s). The toys will be donated to the Solanco Toy Drive. “All toys that are collected at the door stay in the Solanco community and will be delivered to Nickel Mines Flooring building after the game so they can be available for pickup on Saturday, December 15 for families in need,” Solanco girls varsity basketball coach Chad McDowell said. ”The Donegal Lady Indians will be participating as well with us on this special night for the Solanco community.”

McDowell said this will be the fourth consecutive season Solanco girls basketball has partnered with the Solanco Toy Drive. ”This is a great program and it allows our players, families, and fans to give back to our Solanco Community.  The girls really enjoy doing this each year.  They find it very fulfilling to give back. Our Solanco community supports us throughout the season and this is a great way for us to give back to them and provide a happy Christmas for many.”

Anyone who would like to donate in advance because they cannot make it to the game on December 14 can email Coach McDowell.
