Students share their thoughts on Thanksgiving

QE - LNPv2WEBQuarryville Elementary third and fourth graders were visited by print and video crews from LNP (Lancaster Newspapers), and the topic of discussion was Thanksgiving. Reporters asked questions such as what each student is thankful for at Thanksgiving, their favorite Thanksgiving food and dessert, and any activities they typically participate in at Thanksgiving. Following are some of the students’ interesting and diverse responses:

Thankful for: Family – Students commented that their families take care of them, play with them, read to them, and make Thanksgiving dinner for them. Pets – Several students said they are appreciative of their dogs, cats and other pets. Books – At least one student said they are thankful to have books at home and in school to read. Bed – One student expressed appreciation for their bed, warm blankets and home.

Favorite Thanksgiving food and dessert: Many students said turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes. One student’s favorite food at Thanksgiving is lobster, while another said ketchup.

QE - LNP5Favorite desserts: Pumpkin pie was a popular response. Cake. Ice cream.

Thanksgiving activities: Play with cousins. Watch football. Play football. Play games like Clue. Go to the beach in North Carolina. Sleep.

The article, photos and videos are expected to be published in the LNP newspaper, and the videos will be posted on LNP online, on Thanksgiving Day.
