Smith - Coats for kidsWEBThe Coats for Kids Campaign is underway at Smith Middle School and throughout the Solanco community. The campaign is asking community members to donate gently-used or newer coats, heavy sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves and mittens which will be donated to local residents in need of warm winter clothing. In the photo, Smith Middle School students Emily Dondalski, Abby Vilk, Ivy Haines and Sarah Landis encourage community coat donations while displaying some of the winter wear received so far.
Donations will be accepted until Wednesday (Nov. 14) at any Solanco school. Little Britain Presbyterian Church will receive donations on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only, 12 noon to 3 p.m., until November 14. Items donated should be in good condition with working zippers.
The clothing will be distributed at Little Britain Presbyterian Church (717-548-3322)  from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 24 and Monday, November 26; from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. November 27-30; and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 1.
Those eligible include any local resident who needs a coat (one coat per family member).
Coats for Kids is sponsored by the Solanco Education Association, Little Britain Presbyterian Church, and the Solanco Community Action Program (CAP). For more information, call Smith Middle School at 717-786-2244.
