Participants sought for STEAM Night on November 12

Last year’s STEAM Night at Solanco High School was an incredibly informative, interesting and well-attended event, and local businesses and organizations interested in participating in the 2018 STEAM Night on November 12 are asked to email high school teacher Stacy Shelton. STEAM Night features exciting hands-on activities involving Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM). Last year’s community partners included WGAL TV, Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority, Millersville University, Exelon, Plumpton Park Zoo, Lancaster Barnstormers, Warfel Construction Company, Bob Lydum with Lancaster County STEM Alliance, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, North Museum, Girls Scouts in the Heart of PA, and Quarryville Library. In addition, Solanco students and teachers also provided activities andĀ demonstrations involving drones, 3-D printing, forensics, physics, art, math, technology and more. A total of 472 people attended, including 233 students in grades kindergarten through eighth.
