Providence students peer into history

| September 28, 2018

Lindsey Orr - Virtual1WEBFifth grade students at Providence Elementary enjoyed a fascinating look at American history, without ever leaving their classroom. Teacher Lindsey Orr said using Google Expedition Googles, she led students on a virtual visit to famous American landmarks, including Independence Hall in Philadelphia, President George Washington’s home at Mount Vernon, the National Archives in Washington D.C., the White House, the Supreme Court Chamber, and the U.S. Congress, including the Senate Chamber. As part of the project, students used what they had learned to answer “How do you exercise your rights and fulfill your responsibilities as a citizen? What is the U.S. Constitution and why is it important?”
