Angel Daniel-Morales LenfestWEBSolanco senior Angel Daniel-Morales (right in photo) has earned a prestigious Lenfest Scholarship. The scholarship will provide Angel with up to $12,000 per year for four years at an accredited U.S. college or university. In addition, he will receive counseling and support as he prepares for college.

Angel is one of only 32 students selected as a recipient of the distinguished Lenfest Scholarship. Angel was successful in multiple rounds with hundreds of other candidates, and advanced to the final round where he interviewed with seven Lenfest Scholarship board members. Scholarships are based on a student’s ambition to succeed at a challenging college or university, academic achievement and potential, commitment to service, leadership qualities, and financial need.

Angel hopes to attend the University of Pennsylvania or Pomona College. He plans to study natural sciences.

In the photo with Angel is Solanco High School English teacher Leslie McRobbie. Angel chose McRobbie to attend with him a teacher appreciation celebration at the Lancaster Marriott in honor of McRobbie’s guidance that was important to Angel in becoming a Lenfest Scholar. Solanco last year became eligible to participate in the Lenfest Scholarship Program, and Angel is Solanco’s first-ever recipient of the scholarship.
