Solanco Fair - chairs 9-12ESOLIt’s almost Solanco Fair time – chairs, blankets and other items are showing up on sidewalks and in front of homes and businesses in Quarryville as people reserve their favorite spots from which to watch the Solanco Fair Parade on Wednesday.

The Solanco School District is looking forward to another year of participating in the Solanco Fair. Solanco’s exhibit next week will be manned by Solanco administrators. Be sure to visit the booth where you can pick up Solanco 2018-2019 calendars, school lunch menus, a survey for parents about special education services in Solanco, information about Solanco’s upcoming evaluation
clinic for 3- and 4-year olds, and other materials.

Stop by the SEF booth for information on the $1,000 student scholarships and $500 teacher grants the foundation awards each year, and also the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Businesses that make donations to the SEF through the EITC program receive a 75% tax credit for the amount they have donated. Businesses that donate for two consecutive years or more receive a 90% tax credit. More than $150,000 in business contributions to the SEF have been used to fund important  educational programs at the high school, middle school and elementary levels. The Solanco Education Foundation also receives generous community support through its participation in the annual Extraordinary Give in November. (See the SEF and donate at The Daily Grind in Quarryville on Friday, November 16.)
