Welcome back students – 2018-2019 school year is underway!

| August 27, 2018

Smith - 1st DayWEBThe new school year is off to a great start!

Students at Smith and Swift middle schools, and Clermont Elementary, have returned to schools that are under construction. When completed, each school will feature a new secure entrance, additional classroom space, and new auditoriums at Smith and Swift. Parents who drop-off and pick-up their children at the schools are adjusting well to new traffic flow and patterns.

Local motorists are asked to be even more attentive now that buses are back on the road. Let’s keep our children safe – please be alert for students walking to and from and waiting at their bus stops, and remember, state law requires all vehicles must stop and must never pass a bus that has its red flashing lights on.

As a reminder, school this week will be in session Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Schools will be closed on Friday and Monday for the Labor Day Holiday weekend.

The Solanco School District is looking forward to a successful 2018-2019 school year!
