Third update concerning mold issue

| August 22, 2018

Important-UpdateSolanco Families:

This communication serves as the third update regarding air quality concerns in two schools:  Clermont Elementary and Solanco High School.

Clermont:  As of today, only one room is unavailable—this room has been remediated but we are simply awaiting air quality test results. Since these results typically take a few days to be received, we are temporarily relocating that classroom to another room until test results are favorable.  We are optimistic that this will happen by the end of this week.

Solanco High School: There are a few rooms for which we are awaiting air quality test results. These rooms have been remediated as well, but they will not be available until good air quality measures are achieved. We are optimistic these results will be received by the end of this week. At this point we do not anticipate any disruption to the schedule except for possibly a few modifications of class locations.

Please be assured the Solanco School District will continue to commit all necessary resources to address such concerns. Also, please be assured we take the safety of our students and staff seriously and would not jeopardize that—we will always be aggressive with any discovered issues and be over-cautious.

We have always, and continue to be, committed to being transparent and as informative as possible and will provide updates throughout this process.

As always, thank you for your support!
