Distinguished recognition for talented artists Tyler Allen and Olivia Stoltzfus

Art - Allen_Tyler_Self-PortraitWEBSolanco High School student Tyler Allen has been awarded a full scholarship to attend the Summer Intensive Pre-College Program for one week at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. “Tyler will earn college credits within a community of dedicated students,” Solanco High School art teacher Candace Rakers said. ”Tyler was honored with the highest awards in the regional 2018 Scholastic Art Awards and Young Artists Awards. Tyler’s work has be in exhibitions at the Lancaster Museum of Art and the Demuth Museum in Lancaster.”

Olivia Stoltzfus - IntegrityWEB2In other news from the high school art department, Olivia Stoltzfus has been honored with the highly-selective 2018 Thomas Eakins Emerging Artist Portfolio Scholarship. The scholarship will enable Olivia to attend the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts’ Summer Academy Pre-College Studio Art Program. For six weeks Olivia will have the opportunity to earn college credits within an artistic community of innovative students.  “Olivia can be especially proud of having been awarded the 2018 Thomas Eakins Emerging Artist Scholarship to attend PAFA,” Solanco High School art teacher Candace Rakers said. “Olivia’s outstanding motivation, perseverance, commitment, as well as her ability to balance technical and conceptual inquiry processes make her an exceptionally deserving recipient of this distinguished scholarship.”

Olivia was also the recipient of the 2017 Summer Intensive Portfolio Scholarship to attend the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. In 2017, Olivia was honored as the November Emerging Artist at The Hamilton Club of Lancaster where her work was on view throughout the month of November. Additionally, Olivia was the winner of the highest regional awards in the 2018 Scholastic Art Awards and Young Artists Awards. Olivia’s work has been in exhibitions at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Lancaster Museum of Art, and the Demuth Museum of Lancaster.
