Solanco’s 2018-2019 budget

| June 6, 2018

Providence - First Day3WEBThe Solanco School Board has approved a $59.1-million budget for the 2018-2019 school year. The rising cost of special education, and pension and healthcare costs, are major factors in the tax increase contained in the budget. Because of  county reassessment this year, the change in taxes for residents cannot be determined until tax bills are created.
Solanco’s millage rate for 2018-2019 will be 10.459 mills, which is a decrease from the current 12.8109 mills. The adjustment in millage is required so the new millage rate for 2018-2019 will generate the same amount of revenue as the 2017-2018 millage rate before reassessment.  It is expected that Solanco will continue to have the lowest tax rate of all 16 school districts in Lancaster County.
