Piano provides entertainment during lunch at the high school

Piano at high school-ESOLThere is a piano in the high school cafeteria, for students to play spontaneously as they feel so moved, courtesy of a donation from the Music For Everyone (MFE) program and the Keys to the City program in Lancaster. “I am hopeful that this piano will become a great source of music making, community and creativity for as many of our students and staff as possible,” Solanco Music Department Lead Teacher Scott Weyman said. “I felt that the cafeteria, as a gathering place for students and staff breaking bread each day, presented great possibilities for students to be creative and musical.”
The piano donation is part of an arts outreach program that provides public access to pianos for the purposes of making music as a means of unifying the community and increasing interest in the creative arts.
