Swappe ShoppeESOLThe grand opening of the Solanco High School Swappe Shoppe – a free clothing resource for all Solanco students and their families – will be held Thursday, Sept. 29 during advisory. In the photo, students in the high school life skills class have been hard at work washing, drying, sorting, and hanging donations that now fill the High School Swappe Shoppe!
“The Swappe Shoppes in Solanco were created in partnership with the United Way through a Youth Venture Grant,” Solanco Social Worker Avery Hill said. “Students worked to identify community needs and implement a sustainable project while developing leadership skills and a strong sense of responsibility.”
Smith and Swift middle schools have had Swappe Shoppes since 2012. Solanco’s Swappe Shoppes feature a full range of clothing inventory from children to adult sizes.
High school students and parents can schedule a visit to the Swappe Shoppe by contacting the guidance department, 786-2151, ext. 8160.
