Hurley  coached St. Anthony’s basketball for an astonishing 44 years. He has more than 1,000 wins, his teams have won state championships, seven of his players went on to become first-round picks in the NBA draft, and Hurley has been inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Hurley told everyone in attendance that he stresses to his players the importance of always being on time, and talking to their teammates while avoiding any comments to their opponents or the officials. He also expects his players to provide community service, avoid drugs and alcohol, and to abide by the team’s dress code and curfew.

In addition to Hurley, presenters included Division 1 NJIT assistant coach Kevin Driscoll (former Holy Cross coach), Cats AAU 17U head coach Doug Kraft (former assistant coach at Division 1 St. Francis and associate head coach at Desales University), former NCAA Division 2 Coach of the Year Josh Beers, Lancaster Bible College women’s basketball assistant coach Sherri Gorman (Lancaster-Lebanon League Coach of the year in 2008 and 2009), Albright head coach and athletic director Rick Ferry, Penn State Harrisburg senior Anthony Morgan, and Dickinson head coach Alan Seretti.

Proceeds from the clinic benefit the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research.
