Stephanie Lininger will become principal at Solanco High School

Stephanie Lininger -bookcaseWEBThe Solanco School Board has hired Stephanie Lininger to be the new principal at Solanco High School. Lininger has served as assistant principal at the high school for the past 21 years, and she will replace current principal Brian Gallagher, who is retiring (Gallagher became principal at Solanco High School in 2009). Lininger’s first day as principal will be July 1.

During her service as Solanco High School assistant principal, Lininger has provided leadership on a number of important programs and projects, including teacher training and supervision, the high school’s Student Assistance Program (SAP), the Renaissance Program to improve school climate, the Link Crew freshmen transition program, development and implementation of the district’s crisis response and management plan, and student attendance and discipline concerns.

“Stephanie has devoted her professional career to the betterment of the lives of Solanco students – she knows our students, staff, and community well,” Solanco Superintendent Dr. Brian Bliss said. “I can think of no better person to continue the work of engaging and inspiring Solanco students than Stephanie.”

Lininger graduated from Elizabethtown College in 1985 with a BSEd. in social studies. She received her principal certification from Penn State-Great Valley Campus in 1994. Before becoming assistant principal at Solanco High School in 1995, Lininger taught history at Solanco High School for 10 years.

“After spending my professional career as a teacher and assistant principal here at Solanco High School, I look forward to taking on this new opportunity as building principal,” Lininger said. “My goal as the new principal is to continue to build on the excellent programs and opportunities offered to our students, but also to work toward a more collaborative learning community for our students and staff. The school, family and community must all work together to allow for the best opportunity for our children to achieve their full potential.”

Lininger is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the Association of School Curriculum and Development, National Association of Secondary School Principals, the Pennsylvania Association of Secondary School Principals, and Phi Beta Kappa.

Lininger, her husband William and daughter Taylor live in Lancaster.
