Music - Liam HodgsonWEBAn impressive audition has earned Solanco High School student Liam Hodgson on the trumpet the opportunity to perform in the PMEA District 7 Band Festival.

“The highly-competitive auditions regularly have more than 1,000 students from about 70 schools in southeastern and southcentral Pennsylvania competing for a position in the band and orchestra,” Solanco High School music teacher Gary Doll said. “The students must audition on a pre-determined professional level solo, all major scales, and the chromatic scale.”

The PMEA  District 7 Band Festival will be Saturday and Sunday, January 29 and 30, with a public concert at 7:30 p.m. on January 30 in the Manheim Township High School auditorium at 115 Blue Streak Boulevard in Lancaster. Tickets are $7 at the door. The conductor will be John Kilkenny From George Mason University.

For more information, call Gary Doll at the high school at 786-2151, ext. 8274.
