FFA students earn top honors in state competition

Solanco FFA students have excelled at the State Convention/FFA week at Penn State University!

FFA teacher Kelly Lichtley said 11 of Solanco’s 17 participating students earned a medal, and two teams won their competitions.

The team’s impressive first place finish and gold medal at states has earned them the opportunity to compete at the FFA National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky in October!

Kyle Phipps and Wyatt Kudia (photo) earned the gold medal in the small engines contest. They received plaques and a cash prize.

Following are the other Solanco FFA medal-winning students:
Amanda Bauer: Gold – state officer candidate
Jordan Trout and Casey Foose: Gold - ag issues delegates
Hanna Welk: Gold - dairy judging
Katelyn Teaman: Bronze – dairy showmanship
Kelsea Blevins: Bronze - milk products eval
