Art students earn more than a half-million dollars in scholarships!

Art - Scholarship recipientsCollectively, four talented Solanco art students have been offered more than $550,000 in scholarships from the top Visual Arts programs in the United States!

The oeuvre and work ethic of these young artists to date are outstanding,” Solanco High School art teacher Candace Rakers said.

In the photo are successful art students Sarah Irwin, Anna Shillenn, Theresa Gartland, and Joshua Wolf.

Sarah Irwin will attend the Maryland Institute College of Art where she will major in painting.

Anna Shillenn will major in fashion design at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Theresa Gartland will attend the Maryland Institute College of Art and major in illustration / animation.

Joshua Wolf will attend the Maryland Institute College of Art and major in art education.

“These are distinguished recipients of these impressive scholarships,” Rakers said.
