Dan Lynch, Dennis Warfel and Justin Reeder from the Pennsylvania Game Commission visited Solanco High School on Monday (Oct. 27) and provided wildlife and game forensic presentations to John Girvin’s forensic science classes.  Students learned how to measure the time of death in deer and other animals as determined by body temperature, rigor mortis and the general appearance of the eyes.

Students were guided through an outdoor “crime scene” where they had to look for clues for an illegally “shot” deer, including tracking and locating the deer.  The students were made aware of the fines and penalties for illegal harvesting of wildlife.
