Christina McLaughlin is the new principal at Providence

Christina McLaughlin - 3WEBFormer Smith Middle School Assistant Principal Christina McLaughlin has become the new principal at Providence Elementary. In addition to Smith, McLaughlin has also served as assistant principal at Solanco High School for two years.
“I feel truly honored to be serving as the new principal at Providence Elementary,” McLaughlin said. “The school has a strong tradition of support for developing learners and rigorous academics.  I couldn’t be more excited to continue working with the staff, students, and families that make up the Providence community!”
McLaughlin’s career in education also includes serving as assistant principal in the South Eastern School District in York County, elementary school counselor at New Holland Elementary School in the Eastern Lancaster County School District, and school counselor and social studies teacher at schools in West Virginia.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in education (social studies) from Fairmont State College in Fairmont, West Virginia. She also has a Master of Arts Degree in counseling from West Virginia University, and a Master of Arts in Education and principal’s certification from Cabrini College.
McLaughlin looks forward to continued work with the students and families of Solanco.

McLaughlin replaces Diane Boff, who has left the district after four years as principal at Providence.
Also at Providence, Laura Norton has been hired as secretary. She replaces Mary Troutner, who has retired.
