22 administrators, teachers and staff are retiring

Twenty-two employees, many of whom have had long and successful careers at Solanco, are retiring at the end of the school year. Combined, the retirees have provided the Solanco School District, students and our community with an astonishing 484 years of service! The retirees include the district’s superintendent, athletic director, 12 teachers, two reading specialists, a guidance counselor, a speech pathologist, a band director, two cafeteria personnel, and a secretary. They were honored at Monday’s Solanco School Board meeting.

The photo features retiring superintendent Dr. Martin Hudacs (center), incoming superintendent Dr. Brian Bliss (left), and Dr. Robert Dangler (right), who will be Solanco’s new assistant superintendent. Dr. Hudacs has had a 14-year career at Solanco, including seven as superintendent.

This photo features retirees from the high school: Daniel Baughman, athletic director (17 years), Pat Konon, family and consumer science (13 years), Ivan Haines, science (27 years). Haines has also been the Solanco track coach.

 

 

 

 

Retirees - middle schoolWEB

 

At the middle school level, four teachers (two each from Smith and Swift), and the band director, are retiring.
In this photo are Carol Jones, English at Smith (29 years), John Little, science at Smith (34 years), and Connie Herr, math at Swift (35 years in Solanco). Little will continue to serve as head coach of the Solanco wrestling team. Other middle school retirees who are not in the photo are Tawn Battiste, LEAD teacher at Swift (25 years), and Glenn Dotterer, middle school band director (31 years).

 

 

 

Retirees - ElementaryWEBAt the elementary level, six teachers, a guidance counselor, a speech pathologist, two reading specialists and a secretary are retiring. Other elementary school retirees who are not in the photo are Frances Skolnick, Clermont guidance counselor (24 years), Joyce Holloway, Clermont/Swift cafeteria (24 years), Pam Diffenderfer, Providence teacher (16 years),  Marcia Meikrantz, Providence speech pathologist (9 years), Barb Walker, Providence reading specialist (23 years),  Mary Troutner, Providence secretary (13 years at Solanco).
